Health Management International Pte Ltd and its subsidiaries, including but not limited to Mahkota Medical Centre Sdn Bhd, Regency Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd, REN TCM Sdn Bhd and Health Management International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (collectively “HMI Group Malaysia”), are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all our business dealings and in the discharge of our business relationships, wherever we operate. We are steadfast in conducting our business in an open, transparent, honest and ethical manner.
In this respect, HMI Group Malaysia adopts a zero-tolerance approach towards all forms of corruption and bribery. We will ensure full co-operation with enforcement agencies in the event of an investigation of corruption.
In line with our commitment, HMI Group Malaysia has implemented an anti-corruption programme, which includes an Anti-Corruption Manual (“Manual”) to provide guidance to our directors and employees on how to deal with corrupt activities that may arise in the course of business. All directors and employees of HMI Group Malaysia are required to strictly adhere to the Manual.
HMI Group Malaysia requires all directors and employees to uphold the highest standard of integrity and honesty in discharging their duties and to ensure that all business dealings are conducted in compliance with the Manual. HMI Group Malaysia also expects all directors, employees and business partners (including vendors, suppliers, agents and others who are performing work or services, for and on behalf of HMI Group Malaysia) to be aware of and commit themselves to the Manual in the performance of their services for and behalf of HMI Group Malaysia.
Further, HMI Group Malaysia recognises that the implementation of an anti-corruption programme is a continuous process and regular review and monitoring is necessary. Corruption risk assessments are carried out on an annual basis to identify and assess corruption and bribery risks that may arise within HMI Group Malaysia or from external factors.
In addition to the Anti-Corruption Manual, corruption and bribery risks are addressed through several other policies, which include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Entertainment and Gift Policy, which sets out HMI Group Malaysia’s stance on gift, entertainment and corporate hospitality. In this regard, HMI Group Malaysia adopts a no-gift policy;
- Procurement Policy, which requires employees involved in procurement to ensure that purchases are made in an open, fair and transparent manner and in accordance with sound business practice; and
- Whistleblowing Policy and Procedures, which provide an avenue for any person (including HMI Group Malaysia’s directors, employees, business partners and/or members of the general public) to report any improper activity or breach of anti-corruption laws. The whistleblowing channel is accessible at https://report.whistleb.com/en/hmi.
