A Chartered Accountant by profession, Mr. Lam started his career with the Pantai Group of Hospitals in 2003 as an accountant where he subsequently rose to the ranks of CEO of Pantai Hospital Klang over a span of five (5) years.
With his impressive achievements and proven track record over the years, he was given the opportunity to helm Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur (“PHKL”) as Deputy CEO in February 2012. It was under his leadership when PHKL achieved the Joint Commission International accreditation. Mr. Lam is self-motivated and driven by passion in his work and commitment to deliver. He is also result-oriented to achieve high expectations from the group and the stakeholders.
Mr. Lam’s experience in financial management as well as strategic planning has enabled the hospitals under his past leadership to achieve sustainable and profitable growth. These skills will be vital in driving Mahkota Medical Centre on to its next phase of growth.
May graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia. After a short stint as a Tax Associate with Coopers and Lybrand in Singapore, May joined an audit firm in Edinburgh, Scotland from 1993 to 1996 where she completed her training to be a Chartered Accountant.
Upon her return to Malaysia, in 1997, she joined Ernst and Young where she spent an illustrious 13 years, providing various types of assurance services to public listed companies, multi-nationals and government linked corporations.
May is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. She joined Mahkota Medical Centre Sdn. Bhd. as Chief Financial Officer in June 2010.
Sally Tan, a State Registered Nurse, did her Post Basic Course in Critical Care with ACLS in 1991 at General Hospital, Kuala Lumpur and Midwifery Course in 1992 at the General Hospital, Malacca and most recently obtained her MBA from Edith Cowan University, West Australia in 2005. Ms Sally Tan also has completed her Diploma in OSH, QUT in Australia in 2007 and is a registered Safety Health Officer (SHO).
Sally is a pioneer staff of Mahkota Medical Centre, starting as a Head Nurse in June 1994 and was promoted to Assistant Nursing Manager in 1996, Nursing Manager in 1997 and Chief Nursing Officer in 1999.
In March 2005, she was promoted to become the Director of Customer and Support Services and as the Director of Operations in June 2006. Presently, she is the General Manager, Patient Services in charge of the nursing division and most of the support services in the hospital.Sally was instrumental in building a strong foundation for the Nursing Services in the Hospital and has contributed immensely to the growth of the Hospital. She is now entrusted to further strengthen the image of the hospital by embarking on intensive programmes in improving Customer Service and Support Services.
Mr. Kenneth Tan commenced his tenure as Director of Human Resources at Mahkota Medical Centre on 13th April 2015.
Mr. Tan is a seasoned professional having a diversified and vast experience of more than 25 years in Manufacturing & Services, Food & Food Ingredients, Mineral & Mining, Shipping and Plantations in the Asia Pacific Region.
His previous assignments have been with multinational and public listed companies e.g. Motorola, Hong Leong Group (a diversified local Conglomerate), French-listed Bureau Veritas and Harita Group (an Indonesian diversified group). Mr. Tan possesses a Bachelor of Business from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).
Ms. Lau Siew Kiow did her nursing training at Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru and Graduate Diploma in Critical Care at Victoria University, Australia. Ms. Lau is a pioneer staff of Mahkota and has been with the hospital since its inception in 1994. She was first promoted to Head Nurse in 2000, then Nursing Officer in 2008, Nursing Manager in 2009, Nursing Senior Manager in 2011, Assistant Division Head of Clinical Nursing in 2014 and now Director of Clinical Nursing Education in 2016.
Ms Lau currently oversees the nursing operations which include haemodialysis unit, dietetic department, day procedure unit, training and medical records department.
Mr. Lee Soon Teck is the Director of the Operating Theatre Complex & Clinical Support Services.
He is a graduate of Business Administration in Public Management from UUM (Universiti Utara Malaysia). Mr. Lee was previously a member of the Pantai Group before he joined Rawang Specialist Hospital as the Chief Operating Officer in 2011.
His work experience has been mainly in healthcare, which spans the areas of commissioning, operations and strategic planning for hospitals.
Mr. Lee oversees the clinical support that Mahkota provides to patients, as well as Central Sterile Support Department (CSSD), Day Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging Centre and the Operating Theatre Complex of Mahkota.
Ms. Tan Siew Kuan is a State Registered Nurse who did her post basic Midwifery Course in 1990 at General Hospital Malacca and obtained her Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) from Open University Malaysia in 2011.
Ms. Tan served the Ministry of Health from 1982 to 1994 and joined as a pioneer staff of Mahkota as a State Registered Nurse. She was promoted as a Head Nurse in charge of delivery room, nursery and wards that include maternity as well. Ms. Tan was subsequently promoted as Nursing Manager in charge of the non-clinical divisions including the general wards, maternity ward, delivery room, nursery, outpatient services, patient care services, infection control and as a coordinator for the private nursing college.
In 2014, Ms. Tan was promoted to an Assistant Division Head of Nursing Operation and subsequently she was promoted to Director of Nursing in 2016. She was awarded the Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (BKT) by the Governor of Malacca in 2008.
Mr. Wong Soo Soon commenced his tenure as Director of Marketing at Mahkota Medical Centre on 28th November 2016. He holds a Master degree in Consumer Science from University Putra Malaysia.
Mr. Wong has accumulated more than 17 years’ extensive professional experience in the area of market analysis, business development, marketing and brand management for public-listed companies and MNCs specializes in Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing & Services, Food industry in Malaysia, China, SEA and APAC region. e.g. Unilever (M) Holdings Sdn. Bhd., Metro Kajang Holdings Berhad (a diversified local Conglomerate), Tatawa Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Innova Market Insights BV.
Mr Anas completed his tertiary education in Liverpool, United Kingdom.After completing his hoursemanship he went on to work in the Community Pharmacy sector doing both retail and wholesale.
In 2000, after a five year stint in the Community Pharmacy, Mr Anas joined Mahkota Medical Centre. He is today responsible for the Pharmacy Services and Retail Pharmacy.
Mr Kong Chin Yang is the Assistant Division Head, Operations since February 2015. He oversees front end departments including Business Office, Customer Service, Café, Bakery, as well as the important back end functions of Inpatient Kitchen and Facilities Management and Support Services. He was previously the Manager of the CEO Office before assuming this role.
After graduating from National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in Bio-medical Engineering, he joined Mahkota in 2009. Since then, he has taken on different portfolios in the hospital, allowing him to have a first-hand experience of hospital operations from the bottom up, including clinical departments (day procedure unit), quality assurance, branding, diagnostic imaging, and working on various major hospital projects – in areas of renovation and strategic planning.
His current portfolio requires him to work on the improvement of the patient experience, as well as to strengthen and systemise the important backend departments, to ensure the safe and pleasant experience of our patients and visitors.
Ms. Ng Hui Chong is the Assistant Director, Centres of Excellence at Mahkota Medical Centre. She is responsible for the strategic business and clinical development of the Centres of Excellence (COEs), including the implementation of strategies / initiatives to pursue clinical excellence and to contribute to the continuous improvement process of each COE. She is also overseeing the hospital wide pricing review / analysis function.
Since joining the hospital in late 2006, Ms. Ng has been rotated to various departments with multiple portfolios for better exposure on hospital operations at different levels – these include Corporate Finance, Legal, Medical Affairs, Clinical Support Services, Strategic Planning, Special Projects, CEO Office, Marketing and Branding. Ms. Ng holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Law (University of London, UK), International Business Administration (University of Northumbria at Newcastle, UK), and Applied Accounting (Oxford Brookes University, UK). She is also a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK), and member of the Medico-Legal Society of Malaysia.
Ms Teo is a certified Medical Technologist. She graduated from Taiwan National Yang Ming University and obtained her Masters in Business Administration from MMU (Multimedia University Malaysia).
She began her career in Mahkota Medical Centre since year 2002 and now oversees the Laboratory Department, Health Screening Centre, Dental Centre and Dermatology Centre.
Dr Shirley graduated with a Degree in MBBS in 1986 from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore. Gained valuable experience while being posted in Government Hospitals in various discipline which includes emergency, Surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatrics.
Dr Shirley was involved in administrative /management and clinical duties while posted in health clinic in Tampin. Joined Mahkota Medical Centre in 1995. She was appointed as Senior Medical Officer in 2003 and then as Head Of Department of emergency services.
