Mahkota Medical Centre is the first hospital in Malaysia to be awarded the Breast Cancer Clinical Care Programme Certification (CCPC) from JCI. This prestigious certification recognises the hospital’s outstanding care provided to patients with breast cancer, and the commitment to meeting high standards of compliance and safety. Mahkota Medical Centre (MMC) is the first Joint Commission International, JCI-accredited hospital in Melaka since 2019. MMC has been re-accredited for another 3 years, from 2023 to 2026 by JCI, the gold standard for healthcare quality and patient safety. This esteemed recognition has been achieved following a thorough and demanding evaluation of the facility’s performance while also meeting stringent requirements for patient safety and quality of care. The JCI accreditation is an attestation to the high standards of medical care within MMC, providing patients with the assurance that they will receive exceptional medical treatment.

Mahkota Medical Centre successfully received another full four-year accreditation for MSQH 6th Edition in 2022. MSQH is dedicated to improving the quality of the nation’s health care through voluntary accreditation. The Malaysian Hospital Accreditation Standards are intended to stimulate continuous, systematic improvement in an organisation’s performance and the outcomes of care.

Due to the pandemic, Dual Source CT Scanner has been virtually launched by Mr Stanley Lam, CEO and Dr. Ng Seng Man, Head of Radiology Department on 28 April 2022. With this scanner, we aim to provide a technology that will ultimately provide the best scanning experience for our patients.

Awarded GlobalHealth Asia-Pacific Award – 2021 Oncology (Surgical) Service Provider of the Year in Asia Pacific.

Launched the first ultrasound based High Intensity Focus Ultrasound (HIFU) Centre in Malaysia. This technology offers non-invasive treatment for uterine fibroids and adenomyosis.

Entered into a 5-year strategic partnership with Siemens Healthineers in April. Artis Zee Multipurpose C-arm Fluoroscopy and CT Scan Siemens Somatom Drive Dual Source were installed and this partnership will improve treatment and patient care options for Melaka in both cancer and cardiovascular disease through further development of its Centre of Excellence (COE).

Collaborated with the Melaka State Health Department and ProtectHealth Corporation to facilitate the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme in reaching the inoculation targets. Completed vaccination for a total of 9,924 people.

Tomotherapy Radixact (X7) was officiated by Deputy Minister of Health, YB Dr Lee Boon Chye on 29 October. We are the first hospital to install and offer Radixact X7 treatment in Malaysia. With the introduction of this new cancer treatment, Mahkota’s Cancer Centre is now one of the most comprehensive cancer centre in Malaysia.

In conjunction with Mahkota’s 25th anniversary and its sister hospital, Regency Specialist Hospital’s 10th anniversary, both hospital organised the largest participation in CPR simultaneously at Melaka & Johor on 19 Oct and achieved a record-breaking 10,139 participants.

PET-CT Scan officiated by Minister of Health Datuk Seri S. Subramaniam on 20 Jul 2017, Mahkota is among the first hospital in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan to offer this service.
