Chairperson of the Board in January 1999 and the Managing Director of Health Management International Ltd in July 1999. She is also Chairman of HMI Education Pte Ltd, Regency Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd and the Chairman and Managing Director of Mahkota Medical Centre Sdn Bhd. Dr Gan also a Director of several private companies in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong that involved in various industries including property investment and development.
Dr Gan is an active figure in public services, being on the Board of Trustees of the Singapore Management University and Chairman of the Institutional Advancement Member of Parliament, and a council member of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Singapore Business Federation. She has served on the Board of Trustees of the Institute of South East Asian Studies and was a member of the International Advisory Board of the Curtin Business School. Dr Gan specialized in a strategic planning and management during her 15-year tenure with the National University of Singapore. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. |

Mr Chang Joined Mahkota Medical Centre in 2005 where he gained a broad range of healthcare experience. Mr Chang was subsequently appointed General Manager in 2008, and Chief Operating Officer in 2009. He was promoted to his current position of Chief Executive Officer in 2010.
As one of the architects of Mahkota’s strategic plan, Mr Chang was part of the team that worked hard to build up the hospital to its current day success. He has been instrumental in the reorganization of the hospital’s operation structure, regional branding and marketing initiatives as well as the introduction of new services. Mr Chang is also an elected Board Member of the Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia, Executive Committee member of the Malacca Tourism Association and the Malacca International Chamber of Commerce. |

May graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia. After a short stint as a Tax Associate with Coopers and Lybrand in Singapore, May joined an audit firm in Edinburgh, Scotland from 1993 to 1996 where she completed her training to be a Chartered Accountant. Upon her return to Malaysia, in 1997, she joined Ernst and Young where she spent an illustrious 13 years, providing various types of assurance services to public listed companies, multi-nationals and government linked corporations.
May is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. She joined Mahkota Medical Centre Sdn. Bhd. as Chief Financial Officer in June 2010. |

Sally Tan, a State Registered Nurse, did her Post Basic Course in Critical Care with ACLS in 1991 at General Hospital, Kuala Lumpur and Midwifery Course in 1992 at the General Hospital, Malacca and most recently obtained her MBA from Edith Cowan University, West Australia in 2005. Ms Sally Tan also has completed her Diploma in OSH, QUT in Australia in 2007 and is a registered Safety Health Officer (SHO).
Sally is a pioneer staff of Mahkota Medical Centre, starting as a Head Nurse in June 1994 and was promoted to Assistant Nursing Manager in 1996, Nursing Manager in 1997 and Chief Nursing Officer in 1999. In March 2005, she was promoted to become the Director of Customer and Support Services and as the Director of Operations in June 2006. Presently, she is the General Manager, Patient Services in charge of the nursing division and most of the support services in the hospital. Sally was instrumental in building a strong foundation for the Nursing Services in the Hospital and has contributed immensely to the growth of the Hospital. She is now entrusted to further strengthen the image of the hospital by embarking on intensive programmes in improving Customer Service and Support Services. |

Dr Tan is the Medical Director of Mahkota Medical Centre Melaka. He graduated with an MBBS from the University of Sydney in 1968. Dr Tan began his career in 1979 as a lecturer and consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) in University Malaya. Moving on, he then started his own private practice as a consultant in O&G in 1980 in Malacca. In 1990, he was elected as a Fellow of Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (London). A person who is keen to impart his knowledge to others, Dr Tan has also been lecturing part time in Melaka Manipal Medical College since year 2000 and was member of the Board of Directors in Southern Hospital until year 2007.
Bringing with him his extensive experience in his field, he joined Mahkota Medical Centre Melaka in year 2004 as a consultant in O&G. Subsequently, in 2006, he was appointed Medical Director and Person In Charge of Mahkota Medical Centre Melaka. He advised the Board of Management on clinical issues and the observant of healthcare act. An active person in his field of specialization, Dr Tan is a life member of the Malaysian Medical Association, past president of the Rotary Club of Melaka and Family Planning Association Melaka. Dr Tan was awarded the AMN title by Yang Dipertuan Agong and the PJK title by Malacca State Government for Community Service. |

Mr Mok, a perfusionist by profession is currently a Director in the Clinical Support Service Division. Mr Mok attained his certification in Clinical Perfusion with the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion in 1995 and became one of the few certified perfusionists outside the US.
Mr Mok's allied health career as a medical assistant in the various government hospitals brings with him many years of working experience in the outpatient, emergency, intensive care and anesthesiology department. He joined the cardiothoracic department of General Hospital Kuala Lumpur in 1986 and in the following year he was sent to Sydney, Australia for a year to do his perfusion training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. While serving as a senior perfusionist at the National Health Institute, (Institute Jantung Negara) Kuala Lumpur, Mr Mok was sent to further his perfusion education at the University Hospital of Vienna, Austria in 1991. Mr Mok joined Mahkota Medical Centre as Chief Perfusionist in May, 1995 and was instrumental in planning and setting up the cardiac operating theatre and cardiac intensive care unit in the hospital. He was promoted Cardiac Service Manager in July 2000, Deputy Director of Clinical Support Services in 2007 and to his present position in July 2008. |

Ms Christine Lee Chwee Ngoh is the Director of Operations, Mahkota Medical Centre Melaka.
With over 17 years of experience specialising in clinical support services and she currently oversees the Frontline, Support Services, Facility, Bakery and Food and Beverage. Christine began her career in 1993 as a medical laboratory technologist in Singapore General Hospital. In 1994, she then joined Mahkota Medical Centre as one of the pioneer staff to set up the laboratory and in 1996 became the head of laboratory. Subsequently, in 2005, she was handed the responsibility of expanding the hospital’s Health Screening centre which included the recruiting of staff and developing a one-stop service system for the Centre. Due to her vast experience, she was promoted to Senior Manager of Clinical Support Services in the hospital in 2006, heading departments such as the Laboratory, Health Screening, Radiology, In-vitro Fertilisation, Dental and Radiotherapy were placed under her supervision. In July 2007, she was promoted to Director of Clinical Support Services and in 2009, she headed departments such as Clinical Research Centre, Pharmacy, Retail Pharmacy, Haemodialysis, Physiotherapy, Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, Dietetic and Chemotherapy Departments in the hospital. She was als tasked to be the person in-charge of developing the Cambodia market as a 2nd market for the hospital . Christine currently holds the position of Director, Operations, which involves overseeing a team of managers who look into ways on enhancing the customer experience in the hospital. She is in charge of researching into sensory approaches to improving the hospital’s services, covering all aspects such as the patient’s sight, touch, sounds, smell and taste – aspects which are vital to making one’s stay in the hospital as pleasant as possible. |

Ms Chia started her career as an internal auditor of a major insurance firm before joining Ernst & Young, Chartered Accountants (KL) for 3 years. During her attachment with Ernst & Young, she undertook various statutory audits and due diligence exercises in Malaysia as well as in China.
Ms Chia joined Mahkota Medical Centre in April 2004 as Internal Audit Executive. In July 2006, she was promoted as Corporate Finance Manager reporting directly to the CEO/ Group ED. Ms Chia assumed the position of Senior Manager, Corporate Finance & Development in January 2008 to supervise the Medical Staff Administration, Legal and Secretarial, Corporate Finance, Pricing, Taxation, Internal Audit and Corporate Communication functions. In February 2009, Ms Chia was re-designated as Senior Manager, Strategic Planning and Front Office to oversee the Admission and Registration Dept, Credit Control Dept and Customer Service Dept. She maintained the Corporate Finance and Pricing functions in her new portfolio. In May 2010, Ms Chia was promoted to the position of Director, Strategic Planning and Front Office. Ms Chia assumed the position of Director, Clinical Support Services in July 2011. Her key area of responsibility is to drive internal business development for all the allied-health services in the hospital which includes pharmacy, laboratory, health screening, radiology and radiotherapy. Ms Chia is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants as well as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. |

Mr Anas completed his tertiary education in Liverpool, United Kingdom. After completing his hoursemanship he went on to work in the Community Pharmacy sector doing both retail and wholesale. In 2000, after a five year stint in the Community Pharmacy, Mr Anas joined Mahkota Medical Centre. He is today responsible for the Pharmacy Services and Chemotherapy Daycare.

Ms. Zoe Lau graduated as a medical technologist from Kaoshiung Medical University, Taiwan. She served in various private medical centres in Taiwan and Kuala Lumpur before she joined Mahkota Medical Centre in 1994.
She is one of the hospital's pioneer staff and was initially appointed to assist in setting up the new radiotherapy department at that time. In 1997, she was assigned with the task of learning In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Ten years ago, IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) was considered as an unknown medical technology especially amongst the Malaccans. However, Ms Zoe managed to fulfill the management's expectation by leading the IVF centre to develop its current status. Currently, Mahkota Medical Centre's IVF centre is well known especially in the southern region of Malaysia. To keep up to date with the latest technology in IVF, Ms Zoe has never ceased her quest for learning more. She has attended many national and international ART(Assisted Reproductive Technique) conferences, seminars and hands-on workshops plus attachment training and has gained extensive knowledge and exposure from different countries including Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Germany, Canada and Denmark. Currently, she holds the position as senior manager in the clinical support service division. Besides her expertise in IVF, she has been assigned to assist in the operation of the hospital's dental department. The evening dental service was introduced in June 2008 and this extended hour services have widely benefitted most of our working customers. |
