The Mahkota In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Centre commenced its service in July 1997 and has seen to the success of some 340 couples fulfilling their dreams of starting a family. There have been more than 356 take home babies including more than 65 twins , ten triplets and one quadruplet. Many more couples are in various stages of pregnancy and awaiting the birth of their precious babies. It is anticipated that these success figures will continue to grow with the expertise of the Centre's team, serving in the Malacca community.

The Mahkota IVF Centre consists of two well-equipped laboratories (Sperm Purification and Embryo Culture), one operation theatre, a counselling and follow-up room, an Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) procedure and patient recovery room as well as a semen collection room. All the relevant procedures are carried out within the department, and the environment is well-designed to protect the patients' privacy.

Mahkota IVF Centre has upgraded its service by providing advanced techniques in Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) program, In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and gamete freezing programs. Since the year 2002, we have extended embryo culture to Day 3. By doing so, pregnancy results have increased to 42 % compared to 30% in previous years. For the ICSI and IUI programs, the success rate is around 35 % - 40 % and 18 % respectively.
